One of the most show-stopping moments at Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection show at Paris was when Blackpink Jennie stepped out in a bold crimson set in the French fashion house’s iconic tweed fabric. But if you’re anything like us, it’s the K-pop singer’s mile-long silky tresses that really stole the show.

And if you’re wondering how the face of Chanel’s new “Coco Neige” campaign got her hair so long? Thankfully, it’s not a miracle hair growth shampoo, special supplement or the Paris air.

The secret is extensions. If you’re thinking of going the extra mile (literally) for beauty, consider clip-on extensions that pool at your waist. These temporary hair extensions that go on hair with snap-on clips are great for adding length and volume in a pinch.

Before attaching your hair extensions, you want to section off your hair and secure most of it on the top half of your head. “Always tease the section and apply powder wax or dry shampoo to add some grit to give your clips more hold so they won’t slide off midway,” advises Fadli Rahman, hairstylist and founder of Wigs By Salome.

Even if you choose not to put extensions in, you can still get Jennie’s pin-straight and sleek look by grabbing your straightener and some heat-protectant spray.

One of the simplest ways to recreate the “SOLO” singer’s super straight hair is using a flat iron. “You need to start with dry hair. Blow dry your hair if it’s wet. Follow up with a non-greasy heat protectant. If you’re using one that contains oil, it’ll damage your hair in the long run,” says Fadli.

“Split your hair in sections before putting the extensions in (if you’re working with extensions). Divide your hair into sections and straighten with a flat iron. Before flat-ironing, go over your entire head with hairspray to lightly coat the hair. I like running a fine-tooth comb through my hair simultaneously along with my flat iron. Doing so gives you that sleek finish instead of the ‘fluffy’ look,” he adds.
