Winter is coming at Chanel and to mark the upcoming launch of its apres-ski Coco Neige line, the brand has turned to none other than Jennie Kim of Blackpink. Earlier on September 23rd, Chanel released the teaser image from the campaign starring its house ambassador, who is also dubbed “Human Chanel” by her fans.
Dutch photographer duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, who regularly collaborates with Chanel’s artistic director Virginie Viard, lensed the campaign which will be fully revealed on September 28.

Perhaps as a nod to Blackpink and Jennie’s flirty and youthful energy, the shot sees the 25-year-old pop star dressed in a cropped pink sweat top and pants decorated with an all-over graffiti print of the word ‘Chanel’. The ensemble is completed with a grey puffer coat dropped off from her shoulders, a black veil headband and a belt and a necklace with heart-shaped pearls charms.
“I love to go out in the snow, doing winter sports. I really like how snow just makes you feel. Wearing these clothes makes me feel like I’m ready to ski tomorrow,” she said in a statement.

First launched in 2018, Coco Neige is Chanel’s dedicated line for winter sportswear that marries performance with a fashionable aesthetic. This year’s collection is slated to drop in stores from the end of October.
While hitting the snow slopes still remain a far-fetched idea for most of us, the collection does include more wearable pieces and accessories that are better suited for our tropical climate. For a preview of these pieces, simply scroll below.
