Starting in September and lasting all the way through November, the Singapore Film Commission is celebrating its 20th anniversary with B.Y.O Cinema. Keeping the screenings local, B.Y.O is bringing Ilo Ilo back onto the big screen this October. The first Singaporean film to bag an award at Cannes Film Festival, this is a screening you don’t want to miss. Of course, you can’t go to the movies without snacks. Well, B.Y.O Cinema will be providing popcorn and cotton candy - yes, it’s on the house. So grab your mats and get your hearts ready for the evening.

In partnership with Gardens by The Bay, the Singapore International Film Festival will be hosting the inaugural Moonlight Cinema series. The two films being screened this year are My Girl (USA, 1991) and My Girl (Thailand, 2003. Yes, you heard me right. These two coming-of-age films have the exact same titles. They are set in different countries but bear similarities that are purely coincidental: people love their soundtracks and they are cult favourites.
